The Same Team, Every Visit
We started in 2019 with two cleaners, one van, and a rule we’ve never broken: the people who cleaned your home last time are the people who clean it next time.
Our story
How Northline started in 2019
The company began because of a complaint we kept hearing from friends in Denver: the cleaning was fine, but a different pair of strangers turned up every time. Nobody remembered the dog, the loose cabinet door, or that the guest bath only matters in December. Every visit started from zero.
So we opened with two cleaners and turned that into the business rule. Homes get assigned to a pair, and the pair stays. It costs more to schedule that way — you can’t just fill a gap with whoever is free — and it’s the reason clients stay for years instead of months.
Since then we’ve cleaned 2,400+ Denver homes and collected 4.9 stars from 380 reviews. We’re still local, still small enough that the owners know the routes, and still turning down work in neighborhoods we can’t reach without adding drive time to somebody else’s visit.
The people
Who comes to your door
Four of the people who clean Denver homes for us. Two of them have been here since the first year, and the pair assigned to your home stays your pair.
-
Erin Vance
Owner · since 2019
Started Northline with one van and a rule about sending the same pair twice. Still builds the routes.
-
Dana Whitfield
Cleaner · since 2019
The other half of the original two. Holds a Wash Park route where some homes have had her for six years.
-
Marcus Hale
Crew lead · since 2020
Runs the paid trial clean every new hire does in a real home, and the two weeks that follow it.
-
Jenna Ortiz
Cleaner · since 2022
Came from hotel housekeeping. Deep cleans and move-outs, mostly in the Highlands.
Everyone here is a W-2 employee, background-checked before their first visit, and paid above the Denver average for cleaning work — which is why the same two people can hold a route for years.
Hiring
How we hire and train
Most people we hire have cleaned professionally before. What takes time is the part that isn’t cleaning.
Before an offer
- Criminal background check on every cleaner, no exceptions
- Two work references we actually call
- A paid trial clean with a lead cleaner, in a real home
- Right-to-work verification and a valid driver’s license
Before working alone
- Two weeks paired with an experienced cleaner
- The 62-point and 88-point checklists learned in order
- Surface training: what not to use on old wood, stone, and stainless
- House rules: what we photograph, what we report, what we never move
Everyone is a W-2 employee, not a contractor. That means we carry the insurance and the bonding, we cover payroll taxes, and a cleaner who breaks something isn’t personally on the hook for it. It also means we can require training, which you can’t do with a contractor without turning them into an employee anyway.
The payoff
Why that matters to you
We pay well above the Denver average for cleaning work, and we’ll say plainly what that means: we are not the cheapest quote you’ll get. A solo cleaner with no insurance and no payroll will beat our price. That’s a real option and for some homes it’s the right one.
Here’s what the difference buys. People who are paid properly stay, and people who stay learn your home. Turnover is what forces the “whoever is available” model on every other company — not preference, math. Ours is low enough that the same two cleaners can hold a route for years.
It also shows up in the small decisions nobody audits. A cleaner who isn’t racing to a fourth house at 4 PM dries the chrome instead of leaving spots, and tells you about the slow drip under the sink instead of hoping you don’t notice it was there.
